Over 20% of premises across Northamptonshire have access to superfast broadband as a result of public investment through the Superfast Northamptonshire project with Openreach- that's around 73,000 premises. Find out more about Building the Network on the project website and the Network Build and Technologies FAQ.

Please refer to the Working with Gigaclear web page.  Our local full fibre target aims to see 40% of all premises able to access broadband services over full fibre networks. Almost 5% of this target will be delivered with the support of public funding through the Superfast Northamptonshire contracts with Gigaclear. That involves 7,000 rural homes and businesses.

The legacy secured by Northamptonshire County Council by March 2021 involved a budget of £29m to invest in digital infrastructure via the Superfast Northamptonshire project. This included an £8.08m commitment from its own budget along with contributions from the Department for Digital Culture Media and Sport, the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development: Europe investing in rural areas, Local Growth Fund, and the former county and district and borough councils.  It also includes Investment Fund ‘clawed back’ through Openreach contracts.

To see how much of this is currently invested across the three Stages secured to date, please refer to the Working with Openreach and Working with Gigaclear web pages.
